Azure Performance Data Unreliable/Outdated
https://cloudprice.net/performance references this Azure documentation page as the source for performance data. However, Azure has stopped updating this page and the header on top as of today says it’s archived as of December 16, 2024. VM comparisons also reference this data, even showing for VMs that are not documented at all (like the Dadsv6 family, for example). Can these data be replaced by another source? If not, should it be removed until a new source is available?

yeah, we know that Microsoft decided to stop publish that data. There is no need to remove that data cause benchmarking data is sustainable and will not change for those instances that were already checked.
If you know any other sources to get that data, please share it with us and will be happy to incorporate it. Meanwhile i did not find any other reliable sources yet.

Just giving a screenshot of a comparison. Looks like the perf scores from CoreMark are valid (they gave up after v5), but the ACUs (Azure Compute Units) I’m not sure where they’re coming from.
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/virtual-machines/acu
This doesn’t list any v5 scores, and definitely not v6, so if anyone is looking at ACUs as a guide, it could be misleading. Leaving the old perf scores could work but maybe add a disclaimer about Azure no longer supporting the data (and the source may disappear in the future).
As for other sources, from Azure all I can go by are their blog posts.
https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/blog/azurecompute/new-daeafav6-vms-with-increased-performance-and-azure-boost-are-now-generally-av/4309381 says Da/Ea v6 are up to 20% improved perf over the v5s, and the Fa v6 family is up to 2x over their equivalent v5. It’s generalized of course but so were ACUs and the CoreMark scores. Will keep searching for Azure comparisons but would recommend removing perf scores/ACUs in the interim since newer stuff is not accurately measured.
